Thank you for your continued support of Dell solutions. Starting with NetVault Backup 10 (released May 2014)
the NetVault Server platform is no longer supported on Legacy operating systems Solaris, AIX, HPUX, Mac OSX,
Itanium and FreeBSD Linux. Please note that NetVault Client platforms are not impacted and are still supported on these platforms.
These Legacy operating systems have remained fully supported on system running NetVault Backup 9.x. However, NetVault
Backup 9.x has entered "Limited Support" for one year starting on January 20, 2016 and support will be discontinued on January 20, 2017.
For Component-based customers, to minimize disruption to your business and protect your initial investment we
have created a swap program for you to exchange a Legacy NetVault server platform license for a supported Windows or Linux
platform license free of charge. This license is required to run NetVault 10 or higher.
Once a new license is issued, NetVault Component-Licensed customers will follow the same process as Capacity-Licensed
customers in order to migrate NetVault Server data to a supported Windows /Linux server.
What you need to do:
Contact your Account Manager for Dell products to discuss any particular questions you have regarding the retirement of a
NetVault Server platform and the existing swap program or information about Continuing Support options. If
